Massachusetts is Obama country, and I like it that way. Everywhere, Obama bumper stickers, Obama lawn signs, and today at Trader Joe’s I saw a woman with Obama earrings. Of course, there are some Republicans here, such as the ones that live in a house that I pass by en route to work every day.
They began with not one, not two, but THREE McCain lawn signs. (Just in case one wasn’t enough…god forbid they would be mistaken for Democrats) Two were closer to their front door, and one was up by the street. Today when I passed by their house, the one up by the street was moved and stuck firmly on a hedge, making it far more visible than it was previously. Something about it just cracked me up…it seemed almost desperate. I equated it with the face of someone who is trying SO HARD to do something that their face turns bright red and veins pop out of their head. Maybe these people were doing their part to help boost McCain in his failing polls.
I wonder how effective lawn signs and bumper stickers are. I wonder if anyone has passed by that person’s house and said, “What a great idea! I’ll vote for McCain! Especially now that they’ve made that THIRD lawn sign impossible to miss!”

Last night I had a dream that I was complaining about Sarah Palin to Barack Obama, and I accidentally called Obama just “Obama”…then I said, “Oh, I’m sorry…I mean MR. Obama!” And Obama said, “It’s fine, call me Barack!”
In the dream, I kept making lists about why Palin is dreadful, and each time the lists would get washed away by the rain.
