Yummy sushi!!!!
August 6th, 2006
After reading about the Asian Market in Waltham in the Borderline blog, I knew I had to check it out!
I went last month when my sister was in town and suggested we make homemade sushi. I bought tons of great things to make sushi with…roe, shrimp, sesame seeds, seaweed, and more! I also bought some Pocky as an after dinner treat, a huge bag of frozen chicken dumplings, and some lop chong, which we later used for fried rice.
And it was a delicious dinner!

Thanks for the link, Krissy, and hats off for actually making something with raw ingredients! I’m more of a dump-the-dumplings-in-boiling-water and eat, not don’t have nearly enough patience to attempt to make something tasty on my own!
FYI there is another new Asian market right off the Waltham Common, on Elm St. facing the Waltham City Hall parking lot. It’s Korean-owned, and I haven’t had a chance to visit, but will check it out …
I love sushi and sashime, but I’ve had a hard time making it at home. My rice is never sticky enough.
I’ve also tried making kimchee.
I’ve decided that both persuits are better left to the experts.
The more hole in the wall in a certain part of town, the better.

The sushi we made came out really well. It was fun to make and really tasty.
And, Borderline, thanks for the info about the other Asian Market. Will have to try it out.
Oooh, more info on the sushi making process please!
I’ll send you an email or IM with how we did it!
That looks like such fun! : )
