Clouds so swift, rain won’t lift…

May 14th, 2006

“Too wet to go out. Too cold to play ball. So we sat in the house and did nothing at all.”

This happens to be my least favorite weather. I can deal with the snow, I can deal with the cold…but if it’s rainy and in the 40s or 50s, I go crazy!!! Give me a snowstorm over this weather any day. I also like the rain if it’s a thunderstorm and 70+ degrees. Looks like we’ve got another week of this at least.

If April showers bring May flowers, what do May showers bring? It brings ME an awful feeling of cabin fever and boredom! I think other Newtonians are dealing with the very same thing. (And Watertownians as well)

Here’s what I did on Day Six of The Rain That Wouldn’t Stop!

-Enjoyed dim sum at Green Tea

-Visited the library to take some reading material out and fiscally support the library (a.k.a. pay overdue fines). The library was pretty crowded…well, what else are ya gonna do? The surroundings sure looked green and purdy looking out the second floor windows, though.

-Stopped by Whole Foods to buy some shampoo. Whole Foods was pretty crowded as well. I noticed a lot of people eating soup and other comfort foods in the table section.

-Went to the Y, which was also mobbed. I had a hard time finding a free Arc Trainer, the stir crazy parents and children were swarming around the lockerroom, and there were actually other people using the steam room besides me today!

-Came home at 6:15 and promptly changed into my PJs. What else am I supposed to do? I ain’t goin’ nowhere!

Maybe some giant cat with a crazy red and white hat will appear inside my house and create all sorts of havoc! It would be more interesting than sitting in the computer room in my pajamas at 6:45 PM!

I think we’ve had enough rain for a whole year!! E and I spent the whole day in our PJs, eating hot food and watching our Netflix movies. I took a nap. I feel like I’m on half-power. I need some vitamin D from the sun!! :( :)

Man, I miss dim sum! I hope it was yummy :P Sorry to hear it’s so rainy where you are. The weather has been like that for so long here that now that it’s sunny, I’m not sure what to do!

Hahaha…exactly! It’s been about a week of rain and tomorrow is supposed to be sunny. I’m totally plotzing…I can’t wait! Of course I’ll be inside my over-airconditioned office…;-)
