Halloween Cupcakes!

I felt a little clumsy with the icing but it was still fun to make!

It’s baaaack. That is, my Wordsteal addiction.
I’ve learned that Wordsteal is a fall/winter addiction for me. I don’t play it in the summer. I play it when the weather cools off and the days get short. I sit on the couch, curled under a blanket, laptop in place with a cup of tea on the window sill…and I play!
I pass lots of time with Wordsteal. (Perhaps too much time?)
Words are fun!

I have a headache and I don’t feel well.
That is all.

If you’re a big fan of the Nickelodeon classic, “Salute Your Shorts” please become a fan of Budnick on Facebook! Click here.
And if you don’t join, I’ll send Ug Lee to give you an AWFUL WAFFLE!
Oh, and P.S. I’m not a fan of Danny Cooksey on “Diff’rent Strokes.” He was a total Cousin Oliver. But on “Salute Your Shorts” he was quite awesome.

My in-laws are in town, so we took a little weekend trip down to Newport, RI.
We did go to one of the mansions:

That was the Marble House, summer home of the Vanderbilts. We couldn’t take pictures inside, but MAN was it gaudy.
We also visited a variety of lighthouses:

There were also a few we couldn’t actually visit, but we did see them going over a bridge:

We’ve now seen eight lighthouses this year. Our goal is to visit 10 a year, so we have a little over 2 months to see two more.

I was checking on our tomatoes to see if there were any worth picking yet (there weren’t…might be time to pick the rest and let them ripen inside) and I noticed that we have raspberries again! I was surprised, as we haven’t had raspberries since July and we never got raspberries again in the fall before. I just ate one and it was scrumptious! :-)
Did I just step into a time machine and end up in the mid 90s?
I think I must have.
Our neighbor has construction people doing work on their house, and all day I’ve been hearing 90s music. Here are a few songs I’ve heard:
- That “Paranoia, Paranoia, everybody’s coming to get meee…” song.
- “Wonderwall” by Oasis
- “When I Come Around” by Green Day
- “Ironic” by Alanis Morisette
- “Criminal” by Fiona Apple
- “No Rain” by Blind Melon
Currently playing is “Jumper” by Third Eye Blind.
I feel like I’m 16. And actually, my skin is really broken out today, so I even look like I did with 16. Ha. Zits.

Ever seen those alpaca commercials? I see them sometimes on MSNBC. I have to say, they’re pretty enticing. I think I must have been a farmer in a former life. AlpacaInfo.com
I met some alpacas for the first time at Waltham’s Sheep Shearing Festival in April:

Matt also likes alpacas…

But what a weird thing to have commercials for! I feel like the ads are prevalent on Keith Olbermann. Are Keith Olbermann watchers the target audience for these alpaca people?
Oh well, I think they’re quite cute.
