I only picked up a copy of BostonNOW once because it had a big story on T fare-jumpers and how some of them were caught. I wanted a little schadenfreude with my lunch. But otherwise it’s a waste.

You’re right. I’d definitely rather just stare out the subway windows. BostonNOW is so bad that it leaves me in awe.

Back when I was living in Boston and got on the T at Haymarket every morning, there were 2 “competing” newspaper people…one gave out the Metro, the other person gave out BostonNOW. I always avoided the BostonNOW person because that paper was so terrible. Sometimes the Metro guy would run out of copies and even then I wouldn’t pick up BostonNOW! Instead I’d take it as a sign that I was meant to just stare out the window of the T that day, watching the dark walls of the subway tunnel go by, which was far more compelling than the “journalism” of BostonNOW.
