Very cool - congrats to both of you!!!

After 5 years of handing out cups of water as a volunteer at a private residence at the 18 mile mark of the Twin Cities Marathon, I plan to be a participant this year. I plan to walk the entire 26.2 miles this coming Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006. I don't like to run but I love walking. Based on my training, I'm guessing I'll finish in ~5 hours 45 minutes. My goal is to finish under 6 hours to get a time and officially "finish".

I have been looking in vain for others who have or plan to walk a full marathon, but google just led me to you! If you'd like me to share more info about training and the actual experience, let me know.

Best wishes for your full marathon next year!

That's fantastic. Glad you guys had fun! Walking a whole marathon is definitely within reach if you enjoyed doing the half, but if your knee is giving you trouble I definitely wouldn't advise running it. I run between 2 and 4 miles daily and I still would never think about doing a marathon--bad for the joints.

And by the way, happy birthday!
