My favorite happened in the theatre district in Boston at about 2 a.m. A guy stuck a knife in my back while another guy watched. I told him that I had no cash because we had been drinking "mystery beers" at the No Name. I was the poorest person in the entire Hub he could be mugging. No credit cards, no cash. So he said he wanted something. I handed him my Western Civ notebook. And he said, "Good luck, man." and then both of them ran into the night on Tremont. All my notes on Western Civ going with them.

It's the weirdest thing, but he almost seemed empathetic to the fact I had nothing. And he said "good luck." I can laugh about it now, but only because it was a pretty weird encounter.

That's hilarious!

I just realized that in two of my comments here I said, "That's REALLY weird." But it's true, all of these stories are really weird! Turkeys, moose, owls, men giving haircuts on the curbs...

The moose thing trips me out the most, though.

A couple weeks ago Tim and I saw something really weird on the side of the road...a nicely dressed guy giving a kind of sloppy guy a HAIRCUT! On the curb! It was in the kind of warehouse-y area of Berkeley...we almost had to turn around for a pic (and I really wish we would have)!

A moose! Wow. That's REALLY weird. I wonder if something was wrong with the moose to come down this far south?
