Stealin’ words
It’s baaaack. That is, my Wordsteal addiction.
I’ve learned that Wordsteal is a fall/winter addiction for me. I don’t play it in the summer. I play it when the weather cools off and the days get short. I sit on the couch, curled under a blanket, laptop in place with a cup of tea on the window sill…and I play!
I pass lots of time with Wordsteal. (Perhaps too much time?)
Words are fun!

I’ve found something to tide me over until Wordsteal comes back. Wordplays! It has 2 games that I really love…Words in a Word and Word Morph. Word Morph is really addicting.
So, hopefully some will have fun with those games!! :-)

Wordsteal has been down since yesterday evening!! I am suffering from major withdrawls, over here!!! I got some grains of rice at FreeRice.com, but now I’m read to steal some words!!!

Sometimes I think of the types of things that I’d do if I were to somehow become rich and eccentric.
First thing I’d do would be to build a life-sized Chutes and Ladders game. You’d actually have to climb up the ladders and slide down the chutes. There would have to be some sort of mechanism to tell you how many spaces to move. Some sort of computerized thing, or maybe the spot you have to move to would light up.
Ah, pipe dreams.

I’ve written about my affinity for word games before.
I’m not as word-gamey in the summer, but as soon as the weather cooled off, I was back on Wordsteal.com. I’m not great at it, though I used to be quite good back around 2000. I’m trying to brush up on my skills.
I was an addict back in the day. In fact, in October 2000, I was sick with a kidney infection and in the waiting room of the emergency room, and I noticed the sign that said: TRIAGE NURSE. My thought was, “Oh, triage, that’s a good word to steal the word ‘age’ with!”
I’m getting over a cold, and I spent yesterday afternoon drinking pot after pot of tea and playing Wordsteal. It was a heavenly afternoon
Last night, I was trying to sleep, and each time I closed my eyes, I saw the game and I started trying to move word tiles around in my mind. I dreamt of Wordsteal throughout the night. And about twenty minutes after I woke up, I was back on there, playing Wordsteal.
I think I may have a problem!

The following word games have been shameless addictions of mine over the past 6 weeks:
Boggle! There are some seriously good Bogglers, so if I can get half the amount of points that the #1 player gets in a round, I am quite satisfied.
Wordsteal! It’s the same thing as Wordox, which was by Hoyle but disappeared many years ago. Wordsteal is a bit like Scrabble, but with a bit more pizazz! You can steal opponent’s words and points. It can be nerve-wracking at times but very fun.
And lastly, there is Acrochallenge. Ah, Acrochallenge, my love. My dad first discovered Acrophobia in 1998. I was an instant addict. Sadly, Acro suddenly disappeared. I’ve been trying to find a worthy replacement, and Acrochallenge is as close as it gets.
